Been eating vegan for three months now and still going strong. I too thought cheese would be the hardest part of changing the diet regimen, but I feel so much better now that I don't intend to give into temptation. I made it through thanksgiving without feeling lethargic afterwards for the first time and I loved it. Its nice to know there is a vegan leaning vegetarian restaurant near the office.

I agree with you Nicholas. I just love cheese and no soy alternative I've tasted comes close to the taste and texture....I do drink soy milk though. I don't eat beef or pork, but I do eat poultry and seafood. I've chosen to avoid poultry for weeks at a time now because I'm just repulsed by it at times. With that being said, I do want to eventually become vegan but I'm taking baby steps. My other dilemma with going completely began is how to incorporate it into my family....not just myself. I have a 15 month old toddler whom I still breast feed, however, I have concerns that with a vegan diet she wouldn't get all her nutritional needs met at this stage.
I've never been to your spot, but have just started working across the street and became curious. I can't wait to try your food. See ya soon.

My number one challenge with going vegan is CHEESE! I love, love cheese, and I would have a terrible time giving it up. The cheesey alternatives are not that great. I have had SOME that are fairly convincing, but nothing can match a really great, stinky cheese. I have been vegetarian for ages, so the meat is not a problem. I am not a huge fan of fake meats actually, but they are novel to have ever so often. I do generally find the texture (which is typically not very meat-like) oddly satisfying. I would possibly like to consider going vegan though. I do think it's a healthier way of life, but I think I would be more interested in a raw foods diet. The problem with raw foods is that it requires so much effort to do it without it becoming boring. Also, I did not know this info about sugar, but I am a huge fan of agave nectar and tell everyone to use it. So many people look for sugar alternatives for a wide range of personal reasons, and I think this alternative is the best out there because it is JUST sweet without any weird chemicals or strange aftertaste. I think I pretty much covered all of the topics that have been mentioned, so I will go now. I will say that I am supposed to be finally dining at The Land of Kush TONIGHT for the first time, and I am truly excited!

The food is awesome! I work at the Maryland Depart. of Health and Mental Hygiene across from the restaurant and several of us come very often. The food is great. The drink is a bit too expensive - why pay $2.49 for a drink when you can get small yummp kale for $2.99? Also, it would be nice if the mixture of soy and garlic in the kale and spinach is available for those of us who love garlic to add to our food.
